Buying a used car
Before buying a used car near Pittsburgh: prepare for an independent inspection.
A checklist for seller permission, vehicle records and the limits of an inspection at the vehicle’s location.

Arrange access before arranging a visit
Ask the seller whether an independent mechanic may inspect the vehicle and what access will be available. Send the listing, VIN, location and your main concerns before scheduling. Confirm who will provide keys and permission for any road test.
If the car must stay on the property or there is no lift, state that clearly. A useful inspection plan begins with the access that actually exists, rather than assuming every area of the vehicle can be examined.
Turn your concerns into specific questions
Tell the inspector about warning lights, service-history gaps, unusual modifications or claims made by the seller. Keep previous invoices and reports available where the seller can supply them.
Ask for findings that distinguish observed condition from anything requiring additional testing. An on-site inspection has limits; concealed problems, intermittent faults and future reliability cannot all be determined during one visit.
Keep the report separate from the purchase decision
A pre-purchase inspection is not a warranty, appraisal or Pennsylvania inspection certificate. Use the findings to ask informed questions and understand what remains uncertain.
Mokanex can review a mobile pre-purchase inspection request around Pittsburgh. Include the actual seller location and requested scope so access, timing and the report can be discussed before the appointment.
